About soqi
soqi was created from a simple idea — that small rituals can transform ordinary moments.
In a fast and distracted world, preparing a bowl of matcha invites something different: presence, intention, and calm.
The act of whisking tea becomes more than preparation. It becomes a pause — a moment to slow down and reconnect with the present.
The Ritual of Matcha
For centuries, matcha has been prepared as part of Japanese tea ceremonies rooted in mindfulness, respect, and simplicity.
Each movement — measuring the tea, pouring the water, whisking the bowl — reflects a quiet appreciation for craft and attention to detail.
At soqi, we believe these rituals still belong in everyday life.
A bowl of matcha offers a moment to pause, breathe, and reset.
Our Matcha
Our matcha is sourced from Uji, Japan — a region long regarded as one of the most respected origins of Japanese tea.
The tea leaves are cultivated and harvested by local family-run farms, where generations of growers continue the craft of producing exceptional matcha.
Only first harvest leaves are used, selected for their vibrant color, smooth texture, and naturally balanced flavor.
Prior to harvest, the tea plants are shade-grown to develop higher levels of chlorophyll and amino acids, giving matcha its deep green color and smooth umami character.
After harvest, the leaves are carefully stone-milled into an ultra-fine powder, preserving the delicate depth and character that define our matcha.
The result is a matcha designed not just to drink, but to experience.
A Daily Practice
We believe rituals do not need to be rare or complicated.
Even a few quiet minutes with a bowl of matcha can change the rhythm of a day.
Through thoughtful design, carefully sourced matcha, and simple tools, soqi exists to make that moment accessible.
Because sometimes the smallest rituals matter the most.
