The Matcha Ritual

The Matcha Ritual

Preparing matcha is a quiet ritual that has been practiced in Japan for centuries. More than simply making tea, it is a moment to slow down, focus, and appreciate the process.

With only a few simple tools and a few minutes of your time, you can bring this tradition into your own daily rhythm.

Step 1 — Measure

Add approximately 1–2 grams of matcha to your bowl. A bamboo scoop or teaspoon works well for measuring the right amount.

Step 2 — Add Water

Pour a small amount of warm water over the matcha. The water should be hot but not boiling, ideally around 160–175°F (70–80°C).

Step 3 — Whisk

Using a bamboo whisk, whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion until the matcha becomes smooth and a light foam forms across the surface.

Step 4 — Enjoy

Take a moment to enjoy the aroma, color, and warmth before drinking. Matcha invites a pause — a brief moment of calm in the middle of the day.

Make It Your Daily Ritual

A bowl of matcha is more than a drink. It is a moment of clarity, focus, and calm.

Bring the ritual into your own daily routine.
